Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.
With open hearts and open minds, this community can rally our resources to not only lift students up, but set them on a trajectory for accomplishing amazing things. The UYC provides free membership to students in grades 6-12 in the geographic area of Urbana City Schools.
Our Misson
The Urbana Youth Center provides comprehensive youth services to reach, restore, and revive our community. With open hearts, open minds, and open doors we educate students through respectful, honest, and open-minded programming.
Amazing Things Are Happening Here!
The Urbana Youth Center is a project of the GrandWorks Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization. Fundamentally, our ability to provide grand experiences with amazing outcomes relies on the community’s ongoing investment - both financially and as volunteers. We need you to build bright futures!
Policy, Programming, and Transparency
Urbana Youth Center is committed to maintaining exacting standards of excellence for our team members to ensure we provide an outstanding student experience. Those interested in reading our Policy & Procedure Handbook (PPH) can download it on this page. The PPH contains the policy and procedure that governs our team at UYC, while our Program Supplement consists of the program outlines defining our existing program lineup.
For the safety and privacy of students and team members, portions of this public version of the PPH have been redacted. The unredacted version is used to train team members on-site at UYC. We always welcome feedback and questions from our community. Always consult UYC for the most up-to-date versions of these documents.
Our Team
Including official advisors and volunteer advisors, the entire program team at UYC brings more than a century of combined education and program experience to the table.
It is a team of passionate people with a heartfelt desire to rekindle a community full of fun, opportunities, love, and acceptance.
